tasting notes
A deep cherry red in colour, with garnet nuances, complex aroma of ripe red fruits, candied raspberry and blackberry. Its meaty, powerful, fruity taste with well-integrated fine wood tannins give this wine a long, persistent after-taste that reminds one of raisins and dark chocolate, accentuating the noble character of the grapes from which it is made and the region where they are grown.

terroir
The structure of the land which rises up forming gentle slopes (“costers”) from 200 to 700 m in altitude is unlike the Priorat region, not due to its geography but rather to its geology. These soils are formed from the breaking up of the primary granite of the base. Here the climate is colder and drier.

harvesting
Late.
production
A vigorous grape from Persia that reached Europe in the 13th century. It has adapted well to the region, adding great personality. Te vines are grown on espaliers, after being selected, and fermented slowly with a maceration period of 25 days.
aging
Aged in new French oak casks for the necessary length of time for the wine to acquire its characteristic "bouquet” after being aged in the bottle.
paring
Recommended for game, beef, veal and venison dishes, and for more elaborate dishes such as turkey, guinea fowl and lamb. Also good with cured, strong cheese.
serving
It is advisable to uncork and/or decant it one hour before serving. There may be light sedimentation.
